"The details are not the details.
They make the design"
- Charles Eames -
My love for sewing began as a child. My mother taught me to sew when I was around 10 years old and I never looked back. I started by making some of my own clothes and continued with that into my early twenties. I even made my own wedding gown which was adorned with over 10,000 sequins and beads that my mother and I painstakingly hand sewed over the lace.
Once I married, I started sewing items for the home like bedding, drapes and pillows. This grew into a small business making throws, pillows and such with faux fur, tapestries and very lush fabrics and trims.
I am now in my early fifties and my mother passed away a few years ago. A very dear friend who quilts saw that I needed a distraction and invited me to a quilting retreat. Well, needless to say I am hooked and have been quilting like a fiend ever since!
This has led me to start my business Let’s Create Your website. I leave the end of the name open because I don’t want to confine myself or my customers to any one thing. It can be Let’s Create Your Custom Memories T-Shirt Quilt or Let’s Create Your Custom Heirloom Quilt, Baby Quilt, etc. I may even start creating things other than quilts. The possibilities are endless!
As an Engineer by degree, I pay close attention to detail. I am very particular about the quality of my work and the quality of the materials used for all my quilts and I want to make sure that you are more than happy with your purchase.
How do I work? Artfully, nimbly, precisely, creatively and always unexpectedly. I am forever curious and I like to surprise myself, as well as my clients, combining our ideas together, whether we’re creating or preserving memories, helping someone in need, celebrating accomplishments or just enjoying life, to bring you a family heirloom that will be treasured for many generations! I do this with every single creation.
I hope you enjoy wandering through the website and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to making your treasured keepsake quilt!
